OVERSEAS ESL TEACHER EMPLOYMENT
Shanghai BSK Academy (www.bsk.sh.cn) and the Shanghai Branch of China Center for International Educational Exchange (www.cciee.com.cn) - under China Education Association for International Exchange and the Ministry of Education of China, are in need of qualified teachers to teach English in public schools in Shanghai, China.
BSK is the Shanghai branch of China Center for International Educational
Exchange under the Ministry of Education of China. They specialize in
providing English training and professional skills training. English programs catering to middle-class Chinese families combine the western ways of teaching and learning English that immerses students in a natural and fun environment with Chinese methods of monitoring and evaluation. Cooperating with Shanghai Municipal and District Education Commissions, this project (which will eventually cover more than 400 public schools in Shanghai) not only benefit tens of thousands of students in terms of spoken English, but also exert positive influence on Chinese teachers' teaching methods and class performance.
A full-time English teacher will teach 26 periods of class every week at select primary schools and secondary schools (35 minutes per period at primary schools and 45 minutes per period at secondary schools). The students are between 7 and 15 years of age.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Native English Speakers
- University Degree in any discipline
- TEFL/TESL Certificate *
- No criminal record
- Good health
- Outgoing personality and passion for teaching
- Ability to quickly adapt to different cultures
- Monthly salary dependent on teaching schedule (see below)
Schedules Available:
(salaries are approximate depending on exchange rate)
15 teaching hours/week - $ 1,670 Cdn.
17 teaching hours/week - $ 1,924 Cdn.
19 teaching hours/week - $ 2,200 Cdn.

If you have a B.A. in any discipline and a TEFL/TESOL Certificate, you can apply either online or by fax.
* If you have a B.A. but require a TEFL/TESOL Certifcate, we will provide training (provided that you have all of the other qualifications and successfully pass the interview).
TEFL/TESOL programs commence on November 17, 2008 in Toronto
(both full time and part-time programs available)

4 week program for candidates with no teaching experience
2 week program for candidates with teaching experience
Upon completion of the TEFL/TESOL program, student will travel to China to begin teaching assignment.
