FAST TRACK PREPARATION PROGRAMS FOR RE-ENTRY INTO THE WORKFORCE
These short courses are designed to prepare clients who will be returning to modified job duties and/or entering a new work environment. Programs focus on basic skills necessary to successfully fulfill the requirements of the new position and quickly become productive employees again.
Computer Upgrading
This is an 8 Week program designed to provide clients with a basic understanding of Windows, Microsoft Word , Excel and Internet. Keyboarding skills is a pre-requisite for this program.
Personal Image and Presentation for Successful Employment
This is a 4 week program designed to provide clients with the tools needed to present themselves professionally. Focus will be on wardrobe, hygiene and confidence.
Computer Refresher Course
This is a 4-week program designed for clients who have some knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and Internet. Focus will be on refreshing skills and improve efficiency.
Office Etiquette Course
This is a 4-week program designed to help clients gain knowledge and understanding of workplace and specifically office etiquette. Focus will be on communication skills, social dynamics and procedures.
Intro to Customer Service Skills
This is a 4-week program designed to help clients gain basic knowledge of both internal and external customer service skills. Focus will be on dealing with customers and colleagues, problem solving and the importance of service.
Telephone and Email Etiquette
This is a 4-week program designed to provide clients with the basic tools to communicate professionally using both telephone and email skills. Focus will be on proper etiquette, taking messages and responding to all email correspondence, including emails requiring problem-solving skills.
Basic Numeracy and Invoicing Skills
This is a 4-week program designed to provide clients with workplace math skills for simple calculations and basic invoicing duties.
Keyboarding
This is a 4-week program designed to help clients acquire basic keyboarding skills.
Basic Workplace Writing
This is a 4-week program designed to help clients develop basic writing skills for the workplace. Focus will be on filling out forms, emailing, taking clear messages and note taking.
Using Office Technology
This is a 4-week program designed to help clients navigate office technology. Focus is on using fax machines, photocopiers, scanners and telephone systems.
WHMIS
This is a certification program offered either online or in a four week in-class program with an ESL component.
