This program is designed to help parents understand the Canadian school system as well as help parents to gain skills to be able to parent within the Canadian culture.

Life skills – Settlement in Canada
- Adapting to a new culture is an exciting, difficult and often painful process. This program will address some of the practical information that will help you to get settled and face fewer problems. Assistance available in other languages as needed
- Steps towards adapting to your new country and culture while maintaining your own
- Canadian Health Care (Emergency Procedures; different kinds of doctors, hospitals, insurance plans, medication, etc.)
- Work Safety (WHMIS) and First Aid
- Public safety and role of law enforcement
- Money and Banking Services
- Transportation (TTC, YRT, VIVA, Subway, street car, cab etc)
- Finding a place to live (forms and agreements)
- Food and nutrition (Canadian food guide, trips to supermarket, labels). Restaurants, tipping etiquette, recipes
- Legal Rights and required IDs (OHIP, SIN, Canadian Passport, Canadian Citizenship, Drivers License) Legal Aid vs. Lawyer
